Five Ways to Heal Through Yoga ‍

Yogic practices have proven to achieve a dynamic state of wholesome health and wellness at literally all levels..

There’s a term in modern healthcare that I recently read about called ‘Salutogenesis’. It’s defined as all the factors involved in manifesting & sustaining a sense of wholesome wellness.

It rejects the understanding that good health is only about fixing a particular disease but more about a holistic approach to many areas of human experience. Which has already been a part of our Indian tradition for centuries! Yogic practices have proven to achieve a dynamic state of wholesome health & wellness at literally all levels.

These are some of the ways:

Achar - Yoga offers practices of Asana, Pranayama and Kriyas as daily routines that connect you to the cycles of nature.

Vichar - Yogic principles of moral restraints and ethical observances(Yama & Niyama) to create the right thoughts and right attitude for a balanced state of mind.

Ahar - Ayurveda emphasises the need for a healthy, nourishing and appropriate diet(according to body constitutions and nature) that should be prepared and eaten with love and affection.

Vihar - Yoga promotes rest and relaxation for the mind like Nidra, quietude, and meditation to release the sense of individuality and gain a sense of universality.

Vyavahar - practices like meditation, chanting and yogic philosophies improve our interpersonal relationships as we live with gratitude, respect, love and acceptance of one another.

Yoga believes in an individual's inherent power to heal & evolve by living in Yoga through these ways and creating oneness with the Universe as, this is the perfect state of integration or harmonious health.
