According to IAYT, Yoga Therapy is the professional application of the principles and practices of yoga to promote health and well-being within a therapeutic relationship that includes personalised assessment, goal setting, lifestyle management, and yoga practices for individuals or small groups.
The general long-term goal for yoga therapy is rooting out causes for pain as far as possible and managing or reducing the symptoms, thereby improving the quality of life. You can get in touch with me on a free consultation call and I will help you decide on the right fit for you, beyond the mentioned categories as well.
Yoga is traditionally practised as a way of life as it requires dedicated commitment towards altering your diet, sleep, general routines, psychological patterns etc, which can't be a time-bound process. However, it usually takes(I would recommend) at least two months of yoga asana practice to observe some changes in the areas of your concern.
Customised sessions have many advantages: focussing on immediate physical and emotional needs, personal convenience, the option to switch between in-person and online sessions and access to personal communication/confidentiality.
The Yoga sessions will include asana, pranayama, meditation, chanting, yoga nidra and discussions on yogic philosophies. If required, I do connect my students to Physical Therapists, Ayurvedic doctors, dietitians and Psychologists to support recovery.
